    Excerpts from the RFP:

    Purpose

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) # PHTNOEP26001 is to solicit applications that will enable the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (referred to as Agency) to select the most qualified applicant to plan for and respond to emergencies and disasters by:

    · Addressing community needs. Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) helps health care entities meet the needs of their communities in times of emergency.

    · Building connectivity. HPP integrates and coordinates recipient public health agencies, Healthcare Coalitions (HCCs), and coalition members to ensure all people have equitable access to care.

    · Saving lives. HPP enables the health care delivery system to continue to provide care during a disaster or emergency, improve patient outcomes, and save lives.
