Program Description
Purpose: The purpose of the Future Ready Iowa Expanded Registered Apprenticeship Program (15C.1) is to provide financial assistance to encourage apprenticeship sponsors of new apprenticeship programs or expansion programs, with twenty or fewer apprentices to maintain apprenticeship programs in high-demand occupations.

Qualifications for Eligibility
All applications must include performance measures that logically connect a project’s goal(s) with proposed activities and demonstrate a new or expanded Registered Apprenticeship Program within a high-demand occupation. Required performance measures to be addressed within the application include but are not limited to:
- Twenty or fewer apprentices are registered in the apprenticeship program as of December 31, 2022.
- More than 70 percent of the applicant’s apprentices are residents of Iowa, and the remainder of the applicant’s apprentices are residents of states contiguous to Iowa.
- The applicant/apprenticeship sponsor must have an apprenticeship program that has been registered by the DOL/OA with at least one eligible apprentice within the period of performance of January 1st, 2022 - December 31st, 2022.
- Applicants, awarded the 15C grant during the January 2023 application with an approved occupation, will be ineligible to receive funding for the same occupation under the re-opening of the July application window.
- If sponsor received funding through 15B during calendar year 2023, sponsor will be ineligible to receive 15C funding.
